Honey bees have been hit hard this year. I have noticed that many swarms were very small in comparison to any other year that I have done bee removal. I noticed many the size of a grapefruit. This is the first year that I have noticed a major drop in numbers of swarms.
If you see a swarm, please call a beekeeper. Most of the time the bees will leave after 3 days, however, if they end up staying there, they could form what is called a feral hive.
